Asha Johnson was born in Mobile, Alabama and moved to New Jersey in 1991.

After completing her BFA and MFA at Montclair State University, she is currently an adjunct professor teaching Ceramics 1 at MSU.

Asha is also currently teaching at Monmouth County Creative Arts Center.
